Kenya

Judah playing with Clifford when we were back in CO in March

Our family dog of 9 years passed away a few days ago. She was such a good dog! I got her in October of 2000 and she was the runt of the litter. I had just got back from Africa 3 months prior to getting her and decided on the name Kenya cause it meant Queen of Safari. Even as an older dog she was always the most adventurous dog our family has owned. My parents inherited her when I went to Fiji for 5 months in 2001. They had her in the hardest puppy stage when she was chewing their wood fence, pulling up the vegetables in the garden, eating shoes, and had constant ADHD! Needless to say, they fell in love with her as did the rest of the family. Like most labs, she was the friendliest dog in the world and just loved life.

Nathan and I had to end up leaving our dog, Clifford, with my parents when we moved to Virginia. It was very hard to part with him cause in so many ways he was our first child. We found comfort in the fact that we knew he was going to be with my parents and with Kenya. My Dad takes the dogs for long walks in the farm land surrounding their small town and it's by far their favorite thing to do! Kenya was referred to as the Mighty Hunter cause she could sniff out any animal and catch it. So many good memories. I recently watched Marley and Me and cried at the end. I think I would cry even harder now :( She was a wonderful dog and I desperately hope all dogs go to heaven...
