Bath time pictures ...

Why is it that taking pictures of your naked kids in the bath is the best?? They're just too cute! Judah has loved bath time since day one. He's all about water. His sister is more and more getting a used to it :-)

Kenya

Judah playing with Clifford when we were back in CO in March

Our family dog of 9 years passed away a few days ago. She was such a good dog! I got her in October of 2000 and she was the runt of the litter. I had just got back from Africa 3 months prior to getting her and decided on the name Kenya cause it meant Queen of Safari. Even as an older dog she was always the most adventurous dog our family has owned. My parents inherited her when I went to Fiji for 5 months in 2001. They had her in the hardest puppy stage when she was chewing their wood fence, pulling up the vegetables in the garden, eating shoes, and had constant ADHD! Needless to say, they fell in love with her as did the rest of the family. Like most labs, she was the friendliest dog in the world and just loved life.

Nathan and I had to end up leaving our dog, Clifford, with my parents when we moved to Virginia. It was very hard to part with him cause in so many ways he was our first child. We found comfort in the fact that we knew he was going to be with my parents and with Kenya. My Dad takes the dogs for long walks in the farm land surrounding their small town and it's by far their favorite thing to do! Kenya was referred to as the Mighty Hunter cause she could sniff out any animal and catch it. So many good memories. I recently watched Marley and Me and cried at the end. I think I would cry even harder now :( She was a wonderful dog and I desperately hope all dogs go to heaven...

Christmas pictures

These were some Christmas shots that we got. We never got the tripod out to take a family picture, but we got some cute ones of the kids. This was Judah's first time to hold Liliana and he took this job very seriously. He would not let go of her and for the first minute or so he only had eyes for his sister. It was pretty cute :) I can't believe how much they have changed since these were taken!

This was my first Christmas away from my family. My family has some traditions that we've done for years and I thought it would be a lot harder being in Virginia this year. However, I think having a baby on the December 22nd made me way to busy (and tired) to think about anything else :)Liliana was born @10:15 pm on the 22nd and the hospital didn't want to release me until Christmas day. I worked really hard to be able to come home on Christmas Eve. We were all exhausted, but so happy to be home as a family. We had family from Colorado send gifts and gift cards (the best gifts in the whole world!) and our adoptive family here in Virginia came by and brought gifts and a Christmas dinner for us. It was a very special Christmas.

Green Day

It has been so long since I have posted! (Like always) We have had some major changes since my last posting. Most importantly, we had a new addition enter our family on 12/22/08. Liliana Rae Godsey came into this world weighing 8 lbs 14 ounces and 21 1/2 inches long. She has stolen all of our hearts. Judah Ben just adores his little sister. He has not done one mean thing to her! When she is crying he even shares his blanket with her!! This is something he does not even do with Mom or Dad! She's a doll. She smiles all the time and just seems to love life.

Life for us has been non-stop craziness since Nathan's fall finals in December. We had a nice relaxing time as a family during spring break and then back to the daily grind. However, God has more and more been showing us how wonderful that daily grind can be if we include him in the first part of the day. He has been taking us through a unique season of change and materity. Something has been needed for a long time :)

Nathan landed an internship with the State Department this summer in Washington DC. We are so excited because this is our dream job and something we've had on our hearts since before we got married. It's just crazy to see things starting to fall into place. Law school up to this point has been one of the most enjoyable times in our marriage. The Lord has brought such great friends into our lives. This is such a sweet fragrance of his grace and love for us. We are lacking nothing ...
